Delete your account and data

Last updated: 8 September 2026

Summary: You can delete your account from inside the app in two taps, with no need to contact us. Most of what Cync knows about you never left your phone in the first place.

1. Delete from inside the app

Open Cync and go to Settings, scroll to Delete account, and confirm. This is the fastest route and it needs nothing from us.

Deletion is immediate and permanent. There is no recovery window and no way for us to restore an account afterwards, so export anything you want to keep first. Settings has a data export that produces a file of your full history in JSON or CSV, free at every tier.

2. Request deletion without the app

If you have already uninstalled Cync, or you cannot sign in, email privacy@mycync.com from the address you signed up with and ask us to delete your account. We will confirm by reply once it is done.

We may need to confirm you control the account before we act on the request. That is a safeguard for you: without it, anyone who knew your email address could delete your history.

3. What gets deleted from our servers

Deleting your account removes all of the following, permanently:

  • Your profile and preferences, including your name, cycle settings, and tracking mode
  • Your sign-in account and its authentication records
  • Your companion usage counters
  • Your subscription entitlement record

Server records are deleted immediately on request and are cleared from our backups within 30 days, consistent with our Privacy Policy.

4. What is on your device, not our servers

Cync is offline first. Your period and symptom logs, your journals and anything attached to them, your photos and voice notes, and everything the companion remembers about you are stored on your phone and are never uploaded to us. We cannot delete them because we do not have them.

Those are removed when you delete your account inside the app, and also whenever you uninstall Cync. If you have used Cync on more than one device, repeat this on each of them.

5. What we cannot delete

If you bought a subscription, the record of that purchase is held by Apple or Google, not by us. We can delete your entitlement so Cync stops treating you as a subscriber, but we cannot remove a transaction from the App Store or Google Play. Contact them directly for that.

Deleting your Cync account does not cancel an active subscription. Cancel it first in your Apple subscription settings or Google Play subscriptions, or you may keep being billed.
