Privacy Policy

Last updated: 25 April 2026

Summary: Cync is offline-first. Your health data lives on your device first. We never sell or share your data with advertisers. You can export or delete everything, at any time.

1. Who we are

Cync is operated by Cync Technologies Ltd (“Cync”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). We provide the Cync mobile application for cycle, mood, and health awareness. Questions about this policy can be directed to privacy@Cync.app.

2. Data we collect

Data you log

Period start and end dates, flow intensity and spotting, mood and energy levels, symptoms, cervical fluid observations, and any notes you add are stored locally on your device. This data is yours.

Account data (optional)

If you create a Cync account for cloud sync, we store your email address and an encrypted version of your account credentials. No health data is sent to our servers unless you explicitly enable cloud sync.

Technical and usage data

We collect anonymised crash reports and basic usage telemetry (feature interaction counts, not health data) to improve the app. This data contains no personally identifiable health information and is never linked to your identity.

3. How we use your data

  • To provide cycle tracking, phase estimation, and insights features within the app
  • To power the AI companion with your own logged data (processed on-device or via encrypted cloud inference)
  • To send you notifications at the privacy level you choose
  • To improve the app using anonymised, aggregate usage signals

We do not use your health data for advertising, profiling, or any commercial purpose beyond delivering the Cync service.

4. Data sharing

We do not sell, license, or share your personal health data with third parties. Aggregated, anonymised analytics data may be shared with analytics providers, but this data cannot be linked to any individual.

5. Data security

All data stored on our servers is encrypted at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS 1.3). On-device data is protected by the operating system's security model. We conduct regular security reviews and follow responsible disclosure for reported vulnerabilities.

6. Your rights

You have the right to access, export, correct, and delete your data at any time. To exercise these rights, use the in-app Settings → Privacy screen, or contact privacy@Cync.app.

If you are in the EEA or UK, you have additional rights under GDPR including the right to object to processing and the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

7. Data retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. When you delete your account, all personal data is deleted from our servers within 30 days. On-device data is removed immediately when you delete the app.

8. Cookies and tracking

The Cync mobile app does not use advertising cookies or cross-site trackers. This website uses essential cookies only (session management). No third-party advertising cookies are present.

9. Changes to this policy

We will notify you of material changes to this policy via in-app notification at least 14 days before they take effect. The current version is always available at Cync.app/privacy.
